I don't follow CCM artists, but I came across a piece of news this morning concerning one of them. Last night, Steven Curtis Chapman's youngest daughter (5 years old) was hit and killed by an SUV driven by her teenage brother. He was driving in their driveway and didn't see her playing before he struck her.
The grief that they must be feeling right now is like none that I've ever had to experience, but when I think about my "5-year-old" Sydney, I can't help but get choked up at the prospect of losing her to a tragic accident. We should lift that family up in prayer asking God for His grace and strength to be poured out on them. Above that we should also pray for the Chapman's teenage son. Can you imagine the guilt that must be plaguing him right now? From what I read, they are a close-knit family, and I'm sure they will help him get through this. He will need a lot of love and support!
Life is fleeting! Every moment that we are given on this earth is a precious gift from God. Thank the Lord for allowing you to have a family to love. Tell your loved ones how much you love them. Appreciate everything about them. Soak up every moment you can with them. You never know when the Lord may choose to take them home.
